New Release: Hyper Riders

Hyper Rider is this week's new release. It's a futuristic racing game but instead of a craft or car, you have a hover board and your wits. Blackbeard's Assault boards the iPhone

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that unfortunately there will be no game release this week on Candystand.com. The good news is that like the blog title says, Blackbeard's Assault is now on the iPhone.

It’s all that great Pirate vs. Ninja cannonball action you love, just in a smaller package. The iPhone Version features 3 difficulty levels, 20 unique levels, Auto Save and Resume. You get all this for the low price of 2.99.

This week’s release is Virble. Help Virlo on his Quest for the Golden Choobies. Hop from island to island, linking letters together to make words. Of course, the longer the word the higher the score you will receive. The game also has one neat feature-- after making a word, you can click on that word in the right corner to get the definition…Neat!

Hover Wars Bumps onto Candystand

This week's release is the futuristic combat arena game Hover Wars. Hover Wars is, of course, the next evolution of bumper cars set in the not too distant future. Ok that is a bit much-- sorry, I am a bit of a Sci-fi buff.

The objective of Hover Wars is to knock your rivals out of the arenas. This, however, is easier said then done. Luckily you have a power-up scattered around to help you with your cause. So head on over to Candystand.com to play the best futuristic combat arena Bumper Craft game out there.

Spin Blaster is live and our logo got spooky

We're trying to get in the Halloween spirit in the office, so we figured we ought to add just a little big of spookiness to our logo. The real challenge is how our designers incorporate a turkey for Thanksgiving... stay tuned for that one!

On to the more important news of the day... this week's new game is now live on the site. The game is called Spin Blaster and it is a modern interpretation of a classic arcade-style shooter.

I have to say, this game ain't easy (which is another way to say that I stink at it), but it has become an instant favorite with the team here. You control a rotating "core" and have to spin it so that you shoot orange shapes from the orange side and green ones from the green side... make sense?? LOL... it may be complicated to explain, but it is very easy to figure out. I just think it'd be better if you went over to the site and checked it out for yourself!

New Game: Thunderboard

It's been a while since our hit game Kickflip came out, so we thought it was about time to put out another skateboarding game... and this one is wicked fun. Thunderboard combines the freestyle/trick elements of many skateboarding games, but adds the speed and excitement of downhill racing.

The goal of Thunderboard is to make it to the end of each course before time runs out, tricking like mad the whole way down. Ramps, jumps and obstacles are strategically placed throughout the course -- it is a blast and we really think you're going to like it!

Fancy Pants Adventure comes to Candystand.com

New game today -- and it's a good one. You may have played previous versions of Brad Borne's innovative side-scroller, Fancy Pants Adventure. If you have (or even if you haven't), you'll be psyched to try out Fancy Pants Adventure World 2 which launched this morning.

Just like classic side-scrollers (think Super Mario Bros., Sonic, etc.), your job is to guide Fancy Pants Man through all kinds of crazy levels in Squiggleville, collecting shells as you go. It's the kind of game that you can just pick up quickly and play for hours. Plus, we have added a leaderboard to the game so that you can see how you stack up vs. the rest of the world.

Two new games and a new look for Candystand.com

It's an exciting day for all of us here at Candystand.com. We've tweaked the design of the site a bit (made pages load faster, yay!) and added two really slick games. Enough banter, let's get into it!

The first game to note is called Blackbeard's Assault -- this is one that I am very excited about. Blackbeard's Assault is half-puzzle game and half-arcade game... but totally fun. You have to manage multiple cannons and fire cannonballs to form groups of three or more cannonballs before the rolling balls reach the "X" at the end of each level/maze. Confused? Don't be, just click here to play Blackbeard's Assault now!

The next new game is Ether War. This is a classic space-shooter in which you need to guide your ship to protect the space station. What sets Ether War apart is the outstanding control and the incredible visuals. While I stink at it, our testers are in love with this game! Paintball Smash is Live!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! It's only been about 3 months since we first promised you Paintball Smash... Well, today it is live.

Paintball Smash is our take on a first-person shooter. You need to march your way through a 3D playing field, eliminating your opponents as you go. Be on the lookout for upgraded paint-guns and power-ups and you'll be on your way to the leaderboard.

New Game: Good Ol' Poker

We've posted our latest game, Good Ol' Poker, our take on classic 5-Card Draw poker.

Good Ol' Poker is a classic game of cards with some twists. To start things off, pick a character that will represent you in the game. Each character has unique attributes (like aggressiveness of play style or cheat ability) and special ability (like the ability to peek into opponents cards).

The goal of the game is to get the best score (amount of money) in a round consisting of 15 hands. You can use your character's special ability to cheat in the game, but only when the Confidence bar is loaded to maximum. The bar is filled by each card dealing by 10% and by each hand won by 25%. Use your ability very carefully, as sometimes the opponents will notice that something is wrong!

In Stack It, your task is to stack the blocks given to you according to the solution provided at the beginning of the each level. The blocks will be scattered all over the board for you to rearrange. It is a very unique puzzle game that will definitely keep you distracted from your work for a little while.

The new "My Candystand"

Many of you have noticed our overhaul of "My Candystand" and the way in which we display Trophies on the site. As users of the site ourselves, we're pretty excited about this enhancement. Here's the scoop!

First off, you have to be logged-in and a registered user to take advantage of this functionality (we can't track your scores if you aren't registered). Registration takes about 30 seconds, so click here if you aren't already signed up.

We've recreated the My Candystand section to basically consolidate your Trophy Room, best scores and current Challenges and Tournaments. The goal is to give you a single, simple tool to see everything you've done or have going on at Candystand.com.

The biggest change is the upgrade to a new Trophy Room -- this is actually now a "trophy view" of your score history. The old Trophy Room worked pretty well until we've added so many Trophy Games to the site. If you had earned more than 20 or 25 trophies, it was kind of a mess... and, it was really hard to tell what you had and had not won. We think we've solved it.

Many of you weren't aware that we had a My Scores page on the site... we know this because it got very, very little traffic. Funny, one of the top enhancement requests we get is a tool to show you your best all-time scores on various games... since we already had the functionality, we need to do a better job of presenting the information. Now, the "scores view" tab in your My Candystand gives you all of the info in a simple list format.

Finally, now you can use My Candystand to track your private challenges and Tournament status. This was a very simple enhancement that we think works really, really well.

My favorite part of the new My Candystand is that you can view any other user's trophies or scores by doing one of two things: 1) type the username into the search bar at the top of your My Candystand page, or 2) click any username on a leaderboard. Now you can see how you compare to the best Candystand players around!

We hope you like this new tool. Please, please, please email me if you have any ideas for further enhancements or if you find things you don't like. With your help, we can definitely improve this feature even more.

New Game: Insurgo Remix

We have a new game today, it's called Insurgo Remix. This is definitely a unique kind of game for us -- it is also super difficult to explain. The object of the game is to build the biggest tower you can out of a series of steel beams and bolts. To me, Insurgo Remix is one of those games that makes an hour disappear from your day in no time.

Blastrix is live and an update on trophies

Well, folks, we've just launched Blastrix and I still officially stink at this game! Our friends at Stimunation did a really fantastic job on this one -- it plays incredibly smoothly. I highly suggest that you check it out.

Separately, we've heard your suggestions to add more Trophy Games and, as you've probably already seen, we've delivered!

I thought it was important that we outline a really clear policy/standard for adding Trophies to games. From now on, Trophies for games will be live about 1-week after the game launches. The reason we can't launch with a Trophy that, sadly, we are nowhere near as good as you guys are at these games.... so, we can only give our best guess to how "good" a good score really is until we watch the leaderboards for a week.

Also, once we launch the Trophies, if you have already achieved a score equal to one of the Trophy levels we will automatically award the Trophy to you.

Next week, I will give you a preview of version 2.0 of Candystand Trophies which will be part of a really cool new "My Candystand" feature. Stay tuned!

First Look: Blastrix

We should have Slipstream ready to go this coming week. We've had some minor bugs that just aren't going away -- we definitely do not want to push the game out there before it is perfect. You're going to love this one!

Also, last week we had a really cool opportunity to hang out with one of "you guys." Remember in the fall when we ran a sweepstakes for a chance to meet the Candystand.com design team in New York? I have to say, that we enjoyed the experience as much as I think that Alex did. He got the chance to play the beta version of Slipstream and gave us a ton of good ideas for some upcoming games. It was awesome -- thanks, Alex!

Slipstream - First look

Sorry that things have been so quiet here on the blog -- we'll fix that today.

Here's a video of our next game, Slipstream. This game is also created by our friends at Silent Bay Studios and, I think, it is both unique and incredibly fun. I know that I ALWAYS tell you that our games our great (isn't it nice that I love me own product??), but this one is looking like it is my new favorite game on the site. It is incredibly addictive -- you'll see.

Roaring Waves is live!

For the record, it is absolutely freezing here in New Jersey... It's so cold that I'm almost embarrassed to announce that we've launched Roaring Waves... a surfing game!

The good news is that the game is super-fun and pretty addictive. Your goal, not surprisingly, is to pull off tricks, curves and basically not fall off of your board. There definitely aren't many surfing games out there on the web, so we're excited to have one on our site.

...Not that anyone is still reading, but we haven't made many fundamental changes to the game in this version (you're welcome for not screwing it up!). We now have a few different "modes" that you can apply to each map.

Oh forget it, you're not reading anymore. If you are, you're wasting valuable TD time!

Roaring Waves Trailer

Okay, I promise not to mention Line Golfer or the New York Giants in this post. Today, I'm all about one of our upcoming games, Roaring Waves.

You may be asking yourself why we're launching a surfing game in the middle of February. That's a very valid question. Frankly, the game is just wicked fun and we're freezing our tails off here in the Northeast -- it makes us think about warmer days! Lame enough answer for you? Good!

Our friends at Silent Bay Studios in Italy have really done a nice job on this game. The graphics are fantastic and the gameplay is very approachable. Don't worry, scoring big in this game takes some skills... but we have faith in you guys!

I've posted a video over on YouTube, but you can view it below. Also, check out the Candystand page on Facebook for a whole bunch of screen shots. This game should be ready in a week or so.

What a game! All of us at Candystand.com send our congratulations to all of our friends at the New York Giants for an amazing Super Bowl win.

You may not know, but the Candystand.com team is pretty equally split between being located in New York City and Boston. So, you can imagine how many bragging rights were on the line last night. The good news is that I'm from New York and am a life-long Giants fan... so, I plan to brag a whole lot today!

I can't tell you how excited the team and I are about the feedback on Line Golfer. We spend a ton of time on these games and while we like the `constructive' feedback, it makes us feel great when you love what we make. So, thank you... okay, now enough of the love-fest!

We will be launching Line Golfer for Facebook at some point in the next day or so. The game will function identically to what you've been playing on Candystand.com, but you'll have the option to publish a hole right to your profile page and let your friends know about it. It should be a lot of fun. Please join the Candystand.com community on Facebook and we will send out a message the second it goes live.

Moving right along, we're putting the finishing touches on two more games that will be launched in the next couple of weeks. First off, the eagerly anticipated Vector TD2. We've listened to your suggestions and are absolutely not going to screw this game up! In fact, the game will play very similarly to Vector TD and Vector TDx. We've added a whole bunch of new maps and a couple of other surprises, but the best Tower Defense game on the web is just getting a nice update and not an overhaul.... happy?? I'll post some screens when they're ready on Friday or early next week.

Candystand Surfing is the next game from our friends at Silent Bay Studios in Italy (the guys who have produced most of our new racing games). There aren't a whole lot of surfing games on the web, but we thing this is going to rock. Rather than giving a vague description, look for a video trailer in the next couple of weeks!

I'm seriously blown away by some of the courses you guys are creating in Line Golfer. I couldn't narrow it down to a single "hole of the week" this week -- and since it is my blog I'm gonna give you two!

Hole #1: "Inside You" created by BenF09
This is just super-creative and really well designed. I have no idea how you guys can draw so well with a mouse. My holes are so basic by comparison. In this hole, you have to shoot the ball into a guy's mouth, through his body and over to the hole. Try to do it in 3!

Hole #2: "Evil Knievel" created by motox27
Alright, this is one of the many tricky par-1's out there. See if you can make it, in the style of the late, great Evil Knievel in one shot!

So far, there have been almost 10,000 courses create. That's nuts! I know we saw some performance issues on the game last week, but everything is fixed now are we are good to go. Definitely look for more games/web toys like this from us in the future. If you've got any ideas, you know where to find me!

Tada..... Introducing Line Golfer

After weeks of hype, I'm psyched to finally give you a first-look at Line Golfer, our most ambitious game, well, ever!

Now, Line Golfer doesn't have a high-score board. It also doesn't have any trophies. You'll never see a Line Golfer tournament. It also doesn't stink...! It rules, here's why!

Line Golfer is, in it's truest sense, an exercise in creativity. Once you load the game, you get a blank screen... and some tools (fairway, sand, rough, etc.) to draw with. Basically, you have a chance to draw an elaborate (or simple) golf hole, set the par and... and this is the cool part... post it for other Candystand users to rate, play and have fun with.

Well, make that "I'm back." Sorry for not posting for a couple of weeks -- I took some vacation, but the good news is that the rest of the team has been hard at work getting lots of new games ready for you.

If you haven't seen it yet, we launched Candystand.com Rally Blitz last week. So far, it seems like the feedback is really good. Click here to play it.

Later this week, we will be launching our new game/application that will enable all of you to create levels and share them with your friends (and the rest of Candystand.com's audience). We'll have a full preview for you later this week, with screens and all. This Candystand.com game will also have a companion Facebook application that you're going to love.

Also, we are finishing up a Surfing game that will be ready later on in the month. Surfing games are not easy to make, but I think the team has done a pretty good job on it.

We've got a busy few days ahead of us! Tomorrow, we are launching Stock Car Thunder and hope you guys like it as much as we do! As soon as it is live, I will post the link here on the blog.

There's also quite a bit of excitement here about our new Facebook community. If you're on Facebook, I definitely recommend that you `become a fan' so that you can stay up on the latest activity on Candystand.com.

This brings me to my next bit of news. As I've alluded to for weeks now, we are working on a pretty exciting Facebook application. Now, this isn't just a way to play our existing games on your Facebook page... it is much, much more than that. The application we are delivering essentially lets you all create your own games and share them with your friends, right on your page. Even better is that the game will also live on Candystand.com with tons of cool features, including publishing your course and playing the creations of other users. Think of it as half-game/half-creativity. This is so top-secret that I can't even tell you what the game will be called -- what I can tell you is that the readers of this blog and the members of our Facebook community will be the first to know when it is live. I'm so, so excited!

Lastly, we will make sure to launch Rally Blitz as close to Christmas as possible. Again, this is a killer racing game that is definitely more arcade-y than Ultimate Raceway or Stock Car Thunder. After this, we're going to chill out on racing games for a bit!

Yeah, yeah, yeah... the blog's been quiet. I know, but we're going to make it up to you guys. You see, the holidays are getting close and you don't think we'd put coal in your stocking, do you? We've got a TON of new stuff coming in the next few weeks. You'll want to check the site, the blog and our Facebook page for tons of updates.

So, let's start with today's news **surprise**! We've launched a new game called Ultimate Raceway. The gang at Silent Bay Studios really outdid themselves once again! Ultimate Raceway is a European-style open-wheel auto racing game. You'll have to whip around the track and keep careful watch over your car's condition, the tire-wear and your fuel. Moving right along, it's about time that I give you a bit more insight into what's coming in the next few weeks. Here's the run-down:

Stock Car Thunder: Ever since we announced our NASCAR team and affiliation with Juan Pablo Montoya last year, I've gotten bunches of emails from folks asking for a Stock Car game on Candystand. We didn't want to put it out unless it was hot.... well, it is now! Just wait until you see this game!

Rally Blitz: Simple idea. RC Rally Reloaded, done in rich 3D with a behind-the-car camera perspective. Oh my goodness, this game is fun to play!

Super, Top-Secret Project: I can't give you any info on this except to say that around 12/15, we are going to give you the chance to create your own golf-like game. Trust me that this is the coolest thing we've done since Vector TD!

Did I just say Vector TD? You're hearing it here first, Vector TD 2 is coming out after New Year's!

I'm exhausted.... we are busy and Candystand.com has even more cool stuff planned in 2008.

A lot of you ask about my favorite games that aren't on Candystand. As you can imagine, I play a TON of video games... you kind of have to in order to do a job like this! My latest obsession is Guitar Hero III. I'm sure I am preaching to the choir here, but the game is flat-out amazing and the wireless guitar makes the experience even better.

So, when the folks at Activision gave me a call and asked if we wanted to partner up on the game, you can imagine that it wasn't a tough sell! Hopefully you've seen that we are celebrating the game on Candystand by giving away a killer Gibson guitar and a ton of GH3 merchandise in the Candystand Rocks Guitar Hero III Sweepstakes that's up on the site right now. You definitely want to sign up for that one.

Something you may not be aware of is that our friends at Activision have actually put Wrigley's 5 Gum in the game. We've put together a video to give you a look. Now, when I play I can call it "research."

Announcing Vector TDx

We've gotten tons of requests for a Vector TD tournament. We'll start with the bad news.... since each level of the game has it's own leaderboard, it isn't compatible with our Tournaments application.

Fear not! Our friend David Scott took this as a challenge. And... he's delivered! Soon, we will be launching Vector TDx a new version of Vector TD. This game will have a single, all-new map and some new and upgraded towers. There's only one difficulty setting, so we will finally be able to find out just who is the world's best TD player!

We'll announce our launch date and unveil some screen shots in about a week. We plan on launching the game a week or two before starting the tournament so that you guys can practice up!

Our busy week continues! Today, we launched Candystand Face-Off and three new golf games.

I have to hand it to our friends at Silent Bay Studios, making an ice hockey game that works well in the browser is not easy. Well, I think they've absolutely nailed it and Candystand.com now boasts the best hockey game available on the web. Strap on your skates and click here to check it out!

We've also launched three new golf games today. We've gotten a lot of feedback from folks saying that an 18 or even 9-hole golf game just takes too long to play. So, we've created 3, 3-hole golf games that take less time to play but are just as fun. Each mini-course has it's own style: a classic links course, a desert course and a mountain course.

Big week ahead!

I realize things have been a little bit quiet here at the blog, but I do have my reasons! We have a really, really huge week ahead -- in fact, the next month or so is going to bring a ton of brand, spanking new games!

First up, we are set to launch the much ballyhooed Candystand Baseball. For the first time, we've tackled creating a full version of a sports game -- this is not easy to do while keeping the file at a reasonable size (meaning it doesn't take you forever to download it!). This game allows you to play both offense (hitting) and defense (pitching and fielding) and will probably remind you of the some of the classic console baseball games.

We also will be releasing Pow Pool. A lot of you know how excited I am about this game. Essentially, it is a very stylized pool-style game. What you need to do is sink all of the balls on the table (a smaller table with 4 pockets) before time runs out. My only warning is that you really shouldn't start playing this until you're ready to get hooked. No joke, I have been obsessed since I got a test version over a month ago.

Lastly, we have a bunch of new sports games lead by Candystand Face-Off, a new hockey game. We're working on previews of all the sports titles as well as Wave Jet Racer which is in development and looking hot!

We launched a pretty cool sweepstakes on Candystand US this morning, the Candystand Game Designer Sweepstakes. We're going to fly a winner (and a guest) to New York City to hang with us and help us create the next Candystand baseball game! Click here for info.

Later this week, we'll also be launching Candystand Baseball. A ton of time has gone into this game -- it is full 9-on-9 baseball that will take you right back to the days of Neo Geo and Sega Genesis. You're going to love it.

Finally, we are finishing up our newest pool game -- that's right, a pool game. The game is called Pow Pool and it is a great twist between traditional billiards games and super-addictive arcade games. We'll have a preview later in the week.

Match Point Tennis: Updated

If I've told you once, I've told you a million times.... I read every email you send me!

When we launched Match Point Tennis a few months ago, I received bunches of emails with really helpful gameplay suggestions. Well, we've re-released the game with a bunch of upgrades. Here's the rundown:

1) You can now direct your shots by moving your mouse as the player is swinging

2) The computer opponent is no longer the virtual equivalent of Roger Federer... You can actually get shots by him!

3) Addition of lob/drop shots

4) We've added a visual trail to the ball, making it easier to track

I hope you agree that the game is vastly improved and it is due to the great input you guys have provided. So, thanks!

Where have I been?

Sorry about last week -- I've been totally absent from the blog... but, I have been working and have a bunch of updates for you.

First off, I have to send a big shout out to Jason S. (known as CHECKTHEMIC on Candystand). Jason has been a HUGE help to the Candystand team in perfecting the new Billiards game in finding lots of little bugs. Thanks to Jason, performance on Billiards is way, way better now than when we had launched it. I'm sure all of you join me in thanking Jason for his contributions!

This blog has now been around for about a year -- it's been awesome to get to know so many of our loyal users. As always, shoot me a note if you find bugs, have questions or whatever. I'm pretty good about getting back to you the same day.

RC RALLY RELOADED: This game is coming along. Frankly, I thought we'd have it out by now but we have found a few troublesome bugs that we are still working out. I feel reasonably confident it will be out later this week, but won't know for sure until tomorrow/Wednesday. News will be posted here, first!

TOURNAMENTS: One of our biggest projects is nearly complete. Later this week, our testers will be competing in a test tournament --- then, let the games begin! I'll dedicate an entire post to explaining how Candystand Tournaments will work. For now, think of it as massive single-elimination tournaments in many of our games -- the winner will get a special trophy for his/her trophy room. I can't wait to see some of you go head-to-head in Billiards and Mini Golf... it's going to rock!

CANDYSTAND BASEBALL: We're pretty focused on getting this out before the Playoffs start. Not only will we have a new, 9-on-9 game but we'll be giving you and chance to enter to help us design our next baseball game (fly to New York and hang with the Candystand team!)... more info on that soon, too.

MORE NEW (OLD) GAMES RETURN: In the next couple of weeks, you'll see the return of some old favorites to the Candystand. We'll publish a release schedule as soon as they're ready.

Sorry to report that KickFlip won't be ready until Monday. I got about 80 "lovely" emails from you guys yesterday, so I will take my lumps for this announcement. Believe me, I am bummed too but it's best to wait to make sure the game is perfect before it goes out.

To make it up to you, here's your first look at RC Rally Reloaded. If you like the current RC Rally, you're going to LOVE this. It's no secret that my favorite all-time video game is RC Pro Am and I think that the new game does it's legacy very proud!

KickFlip update and upcoming games

I know you all expected to have KickFlip in your hands by now -- we did too! From the time development on a game is completed, our testers bang away at it for 1-2 weeks. Not only are they making sure that everything is spelled correctly and that the game works on loads of different browsers and operating systems, but they also make sure that the gameplay is as fun as it can possibly be.

In the case of KickFlip, we really think we have a hit game on our hands. So, we saw an opportunity to add some tricks/depth to the experience and it has caused us to delay launch for a couple of days. In the end, I know it will be a better product for all of you so I appreciate the patience. With a little bit of luck, the game will actually launch tomorrow (Friday) morning. As soon as it is up, I will post the link here.

Based on your emails, you guys are definitely enjoying the faster pace of Candystand game releases. We've already launched more games in 2007 than in 2005 & 2006 combined! The great news is that we aren't slowing down. Here's an overview of some of the cool stuff on the way. Of course, we'll be releasing screens, etc. here over the next month.

Jetboost: This is David Scott's (the Vector and Circle TD creator) latest game and it just proves that the best games are often the most simple. It's too hard to explain, but I am planning on releasing first-screens on Monday.

Baseball: Lame title, but this game is looking UNREAL. As far as I know, it is the first 9-on-9, full-scale Baseball game on the web. If you liked Baseball Stars or Bases Loaded for NES, you're going to love this.

RC Rally Reloaded: The title says it all. A sequel to RC Rally that takes the game to the next level. You earn cash to upgrade your RC car and advance through really rich levels.

27-Holes of Golf: The Candystand Links is being created and we're going with 3, 9-hole courses. A lot like the classic golf games we used to have, just updated.

A whole bunch of racing games: F1-style, NASCAR-style and even Waverunner racing, all from Silent Bay (the guys who created GP Team Racing).

Of course, there's even more than this on the way including Tournament Mode which will be going to the testers next week!

Final note, all of our friends in Canada should mark August 20 in their calendars... we've got something special coming for you that will be officially announced next week!

KickFlip preview

As promised, here's a preview of KickFlip our new skateboarding game. This game is incredibly challenging and addictive. Our friends at Stimunation really outdid themselves this time and I am having a ton of fun "testing" it, that's for sure.

The gameplay is pretty straight-forward, pull as many tricks as possible to advance through levels. Something new for us, though, is that KickFlip features it's own soundtrack that you can control. You're going to love it!

If you're anything like me, you grew up on classic 2D platform games like Super Mario Bros. and Sonic the Hedgehog. As much as I love the current-gen games like Madden Football, Paper Mario, Guitar Hero and Rainbow 6 Vegas, those classic games have a very special place in my heart!

Given that, I'm very excited to present our next game (which will be out tomorrow): Fire & Ice

Fire & Ice is a classic side-scrolling adventure game that feels like it jumped right out of 1987 and onto our site. The game is simple, you have to squash your enemies, avoid falling off cliffs and defeat bosses to advance through a ton of stages. By finding special pick-ups, your character will switch from "Fire" to "Ice." It's up to you to switch at the right time to max your score.

What's the best part of this game? Well, you're old enough now that you don't have to save up your allowance for it and your mom won't be nearby telling you to get back to your homework (of course, your boss may have something to say about it...)

Hydro Racer and Downhill Skiing launch

Two new games hit the Candystand today. First off, we welcome back Hydro Racer to the site (gone for about 2-years). And we give you a totally re-done Downhill Skiing.

Hydro Racer will remind you an awful lot of RC Rally. In fact, it is built on the very same engine -- the physics are different because the game is played on water! Give it a shot, it is a lot of fun.

Downhill Skiing while completely seasonally inappropriate (see: Snow Grind) is vastly improved. We've redone the control scheme and overhauled the graphics. I'm really pleased with how well it turned out.

I have to hand it to Justin, this is pretty cool. He banked up is points on level 50 and then filled the map with red towers. His result can be seen here.

Reed Sorenson rides #41 Juicy Fruit car to victory!

It was a big weekend for us here at Wrigley. Reed Sorenson, the driver of the #41 Juicy Fruit car in NASCAR's Busch Series, took home the checkered flag in the Gateway 250 held in Madison, IL (click here to read all about it).

Sorenson's win marked the first NASCAR victory for any of Wrigley's Racing team while driving a Wrigley-branded car. Wrigley's cars will be seeing lots more action in the track in the next few weeks, click here to view our schedule.
