GT Racing: Steering Issues

First of all, thanks to everyone for all of the great feedback on GT Racing. We're glad that so many of you like it and hope that you have as much fun with Mini Putt in a few weeks.

A few people have mentioned that they are having trouble steering the car. We've found that to be a symptom of a Computer that doesn't meet our minimum requirements. The requirements are below and sometimes ensuring that you have the latest version of DirectX is enough to make a big difference.

Unfortunately, our Virtools games are not yet MAC compatible.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
3D Life Player Plug-in
Direct3D or OpenGL compatible 3D accelerator graphics card with 32 MB of RAM
DirectX 7 or higher for Win 9x
Microsoft Windows (98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, or NT 4.0 (with Service Pack 6))
Pentium IV(or equivalent)
256MB of RAM
Internet Explorer (5.5+), Firefox (1.0+), Netscape (6.1+)

Okay, GT is out and here's your first look at our new Mini Putt game. This isn't your classic Candystand Mini Golf... wouldn't you agree?

Well, guys, the wait is officially... finally... over! While Candystand GT Racing will not launch officially until tomorrow, I thought you all might like a chance to play it first! We've spent months tweaking and testing this game and I hope you agree that the final product is pretty darn fun. Special thanks to all of our Beta testers for all of their help!

Couple of things to mention:

1) This game also uses the Virtools 3D Life Player. If you have any installation problems, go to http://player.virtools.com

2) The first time you play this game, the download will be a bit longer. We're doing this so that future load times will be much, much shorter. If you have any problems, let me know.

3) You need to log-in/register to play in career mode. This is simply to ensure that we accurately track your progress.

Happy Friday everyone! A special treat for you today... some exclusive game footage from Candystand GT Racing. The game will be out next week -- get ready!

Candystand GT Racing is almost ready!

No joke, I probably receive anywhere from 5 to 15 e-mails each day asking about the status of Candystand GT Racing. I am very happy to report that our Beta testers are banging away at the game and we hope to launch it by the end of the week!

Early reviews are coming in and I think that everyone agrees that this game was worth the wait. This game pushes what is possible for browser-based video games to the absolute limit. It's fair to say that none of us could have imagined just how massive this project would turn out to be and we sincerely apologize for the continued delays. That said, we're proud to bring next-generation gaming to Candystand.com.

So, what can you do to get ready for GT Racing. Here are a few good first-steps:

1) Make sure you've registered with Candystand.com. Since the game has a full-on career mode and bunches of Trophies, you'll need to be logged in so we can save your progress.

2) Download Virtools. You can download the plug-in by clicking here. Play Skyburst to make sure it is working right. If you're having problems, email me!

3) Do some finger-excersizes! We're using the keyboard for this game, so flex those index fingers.

The big wait is almost over -- I hope you guys like this game as much as we do. I honestly can't stop "testing"!
